Four World Records Were Achieved At Antiquorum’s New
York March Sale |

New York, March 28, 2007 – Extremely passionate bidding in Antiquorum’s first sale of the spring season resulted in an outstanding total of $ 7,161,450 (CHF 8,809,000) for its New York auction of Important Collectors’ Wristwatches, Pocket Watches & Clocks. This sale’s almost 400 online bidders along with telephone-, room-, and commission bidders came from all corners of the globe including Taiwan, Portugal, Australia, Spain, Russia and the United States. As a result of this tremendous interest in the 347 timepieces, 119 % was sold by value and 88 % sold by lot. “We are delighted to see such remarkable results for our March auction; new heights have been achieved as we have seen by the four world records that were attained during today’s sale”, said Osvaldo Patrizzi, Chairman and founder of Antiquorum Auctioneers. The toplot of the sale, the Patek Philippe Ref. 5029, lot 343, fetched an impressive price of $ 590,800; a world record for this reference. In addition, world records were realized for the Patek Philippe Ref. 5013, lot 344, which sold for $ 523,600 and the Patek Philippe Ref. 3974 (lot 113) that obtained $ 518,000 in the saleroom. Panerai also did extremely well and accomplished a world record today with lot 269, the “PAM 21” selling for an astounding $ 140,400. Collectors also enthusiastically competed for Rolex wristwatches. Of note was lot 331, the so-called “James Bond” Submariner was sold for $ 82,600. Moreover, the Rolex “Comex” Submariner, lot 333 fetched $ 73,160. In addition, lot 334 , the so-called “Black Dial Pre-Daytona” Ref. 6238 achieved $ 88,500.
