Antiquorum to Offer A Unique and Historically Important Minute-Repeating Patek Philippe Wristwatch Retailed by Cartier in its March Auction in New York

New York, February 15, 2011 - Antiquorum Auctioneers, the world's premier watch auctioneer, is eagerly anticipating its' March 10th auction at their US headquarters on Madison Avenue in New York City. The sale will encompass an exceptional collection of modern and vintage timepieces including a unique Patek Philippe minute-repeating wristwatch. Prior to the sale, previews will be held in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Los Angeles and New York.

 Antiquorum is proud to offer for the first time at auction a unique and historically important minute-repeating Patek Philippe ref. 2419 wristwatch retailed by Cartier in 1950. Offered in exceptional condition, it is an 18K yellow gold watch ordered with oversized crown, repeater slide and subsidiary seconds. This extraordinary timepiece is accompanied by a Cartier certificate of authenticity.

Estimate: $ 300,000 - $ 500,000

 Another highlight of the March auction is the extraordinary Jaeger-LeCoultre platinum "Reverso Gyrotourbillon 2". Made in a limited edition of 75 pieces in circa 2009, it is a rare, large, rectangular, reversible platinum wristwatch with visible inclined two-cage multi-axis spherical tourbillon, 50 hour power reserve and 24-hour indication, "1000 Hours Control,". This magnificent watch is accompanied by the original fitted box, guarantee certificate, instruction booklet and loop.

Estimate: $ 220,000 - $ 270,000

Also for the Patek collector, Antiquorum experts are offering the Patek Philippe “Celestial Wristwatch,” ref. 5102. Made in 2002, it is an extremely rare and unusual, astronomic, self-winding, 18K white gold wristwatch with mean time indication, nocturnal sky chart of the Northern Hemisphere, moon phases and moon orbit and time of the meridian passage of Sirius and moon.

Estimate: $ 180,000 - $ 200,000

 Fans of Girard-Perregaux will want to bid on the "Opera Two Tourbillon, Westminister Minute Repeater Perpetual Calendar."  Produced in 2003, it is a minute-repeating 18K white gold wristwatch with visible one-minute tourbillon regulator and perpetual calendar with leap year indication.

Estimate: $150,000 - $200,000

Another collectible Patek Philippe offered is the Patek Philippe ref. 5020 also known as the "TV Watch". Produced circa 1994, it is a tonneau-shaped, water-resistant, 18K pink gold wristwatch with round button chronograph, register, perpetual calendar, leap year and 24-hour indication and moon phases.

 Estimate: $150,000 - $200,000

Collectors will also be excited by the Patek Philippe ref. 3450 offered on a bracelet. Sold on June 4, 1984, it is a rare, self-winding, 18K yellow gold wristwatch with perpetual calendar, moon phases and Roman numerals for the leap year indication.

Estimate: $120,000 - $140,000

Patek Philippe aficionados will also want to bid on the Patek Philippe ref. 3448 in yellow gold. Made in 1977, it is a self-winding, wristwatch with perpetual calendar and moon phases.

The Jaeger LeCoultre collector will be pleased by the two Master Minute Repeaters offered in the sale.  Made in 2008 in a limited edition of 15 pieces, the first is an oversized, minute-repeating, water-resistant, 18K pink gold wristwatch with 15-day power reserve and spring torque indication. This is the first time this watch has ever been offered at auction.

The second Jaeger LeCoultre Master Minute Repeater offered is a platinum example. Made in a limited edition of 200 pieces in 2007, it is an oversized, minute-repeating, water-resistant, wristwatch with 15-day power reserve and spring torque indication.

Estimate Master Minute Repeater in Pink gold: $60,000 - $75,000

Estimate Master Minute Repeater in Platinum: $70,000 - $90,000

 The Rolex aficionado will be delighted by the Rolex ref. 6238. Produced in 1961, it is offered with a rare transitional dial and remains in excellent original condition.

Estimate: $30,000 - $50,000
